August 2018 San Francisco Museum of Modern Art day-trip

Had a great day with a church friend yesterday. Took the 7:49 "Baby Bullet" Caltrain to San Francisco. Had breakfast at "The Grove". Spent the day at San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. This included a tour of René Magritte. Had dinner at "Super Duper" in the Marina. Took the 8:30 Caltrain. Was a wonderful day!
My favorite artwork at the museum remains the untitled red-block piece by Günther Förg.

July 2018 Legion of Honor Fine Arts Museum day-trip

Day excursion to the Legion of Honor Museum. First a stop at my favorite breakfast place, The Grove.

Legion of Honor Museum. Enjoying the exhibits so much that I joined as a senior. There was a nice surprise after purchase. The year subscription gives me access to both SF fine arts museums: the “de Young” and “Legion of Honor”!

Picture of Saint Lucy brings to mind a personal friend.

Beautiful outdoor courtyard to eat lunch.

July 2018 San Francisco Museum of Modern Art day-trip

Got a late start, but I’m enjoying breakfast at “The Grove” on Third and Mission.

I hadn’t planned on taking pictures today, but SFMOMA blows me away every time I visit! I upload some pieces here which I liked when I visited in June, and which have caught my eye today, as well.

This thing about this museum which I really like is it’s fearless use of “white” or blank space. They have no hesitation with hanging a small photo on a large wall. I find this very freeing, for some reason.

Had to wait for it to open up, but I got a table overlooking my favorite corner in the Marina. My last hour in SF for the day.
